Section 1. Introduction

SLIDEC (“SLIDEC,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a presentation-control application and related service provided by Diego Armando Cabrera Laya, an independent developer based in Chile (“Developer”).

This Privacy Policy explains how SLIDEC collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects personal information when you use SLIDEC applications, the SLIDEC website, account services, subscription services, or other services that link to this Privacy Policy (collectively, the “Service”).

SLIDEC is designed with a local-first approach. Core presentation-control interactions between compatible devices are intended to occur locally. SLIDEC does not access, read, record, or upload the contents of the presentations, documents, PDFs, websites, or other visual content that you control through the Service.

By using the Service, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

Section 2. Who Is Responsible for Your Information

The controller responsible for personal information processed directly by SLIDEC is:

Diego Armando Cabrera Laya
Independent developer of SLIDEC
Chile

Privacy contact:
privacy@slidec.app

Where applicable law requires a local representative in a particular jurisdiction, the relevant representative information will be made available in this Privacy Policy or through the privacy contact above.

Section 3. Information We Collect

The information processed by SLIDEC depends on which features you use.

3.1 Account and Profile Information

When you create or use a SLIDEC account, we may process:

  • your account identifier;
  • your name or display name;
  • your email address;
  • the authentication provider associated with your account;
  • linked sign-in identities;
  • account creation and sign-in timestamps;
  • profile preferences you choose to configure.

You may be able to sign in using services such as Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google, where available.

SLIDEC does not receive or store your Apple ID password, Google password, or other third-party account password.

3.2 Authentication Information

When authentication is performed through Apple, Google, or another supported identity provider, authentication tokens or related credentials may be processed temporarily as necessary to verify your identity and establish a SLIDEC session.

Authentication sessions may be securely stored on your device so that you do not need to sign in each time you use the Service.

Some authentication information is managed by our authentication infrastructure provider rather than directly by SLIDEC.

3.3 Subscription and Purchase Information

If you obtain a paid subscription or other entitlement, we may process information such as:

  • the subscription or product selected;
  • subscription tier;
  • subscription status;
  • expiration date;
  • renewal status;
  • introductory or trial status;
  • account identifiers associated with purchase ownership;
  • transaction-related identifiers where necessary to verify ownership, restore access, prevent conflicting ownership, or recover a subscription.

SLIDEC does not receive your complete credit card number, bank account number, App Store payment credentials, Google Play payment credentials, or other payment method details.

Payments are processed by the applicable app-store provider.

We use RevenueCat to assist with subscription entitlement management and synchronization. RevenueCat receives an app-specific account identifier associated with the SLIDEC account and may process subscription-related metadata necessary to provide these services.

RevenueCat may also maintain certain automatically generated service metadata, such as approximate country or storefront information and the current App Tracking Transparency permission status reported by its SDK.

SLIDEC does not use this information to track users across unrelated apps or websites.

3.4 Device and Connection Information

To establish, secure, remember, and manage connections between compatible devices, SLIDEC may process:

  • randomly generated app-specific device or installation identifiers;
  • device names or display names;
  • identifiers for previously trusted or known devices;
  • connection state;
  • app and protocol compatibility information;
  • timestamps associated with trusted or known device relationships;
  • security information used to authenticate trusted device connections.

Some of this information remains exclusively on your devices.

When compatible devices discover and communicate with each other, certain device names and technical identifiers may be exchanged locally to enable discovery and establish trusted connections.

SLIDEC does not use advertising identifiers such as the IDFA to identify users.

3.5 Presentation-Control Information

Commands used to control presentations may include actions such as moving forward or backward, activating presentation controls, or controlling presentation timing.

These presentation-control commands are transmitted between compatible devices through local device connectivity and are not uploaded to the SLIDEC account backend as a history of your presentations.

SLIDEC does not maintain a history of the presentations you control or the individual presentation commands you issue.

3.6 Presentation and Screen Content

SLIDEC does not collect or access the content of your presentations.

In particular, SLIDEC does not intentionally:

  • read presentation slides or documents;
  • extract text from presentations;
  • inspect PDF contents;
  • capture your screen;
  • record your screen;
  • access browser history;
  • inspect the title or contents of the active application;
  • read clipboard contents;
  • record keyboard input;
  • upload presentation content to SLIDEC servers.

On supported desktop platforms, SLIDEC may require operating-system permission to issue presentation-control input. That permission is used to perform control actions and not to monitor or record your activity.

3.7 Preferences and Local Configuration

SLIDEC may store preferences locally on your devices, including:

  • presentation-control layouts;
  • timer settings;
  • haptic settings;
  • appearance preferences;
  • previously known or trusted devices;
  • control configuration;
  • other interface preferences.

These settings are generally stored locally and are not treated as cloud account content unless a feature expressly indicates otherwise.

3.8 Security and Account-Recovery Information

When necessary to protect accounts, subscriptions, or the Service, we may process limited technical information used to:

  • prevent abuse;
  • detect conflicting subscription ownership;
  • protect account-recovery functions;
  • rate-limit suspicious activity;
  • authenticate requests;
  • investigate technical or security incidents.

For example, IP-address information may be processed temporarily by infrastructure used to protect account-recovery requests.

Where possible, security information is minimized, transformed, or retained only for a limited period appropriate to its security purpose.

3.9 Website and Network Information

When you visit slidec.app, our hosting, network, and security providers may automatically process standard request information such as:

  • IP address;
  • request timestamp;
  • browser or device information;
  • requested URL;
  • network and security metadata.

This information is used to deliver and protect the website and maintain network reliability.

SLIDEC does not currently use third-party advertising cookies or behavioral advertising technology on the website.

Infrastructure providers may use strictly necessary cookies or equivalent technologies for security, traffic management, fraud prevention, or delivery of their services.

Section 4. Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect

SLIDEC is not designed to collect sensitive personal information unrelated to its presentation-control functionality.

We do not intentionally collect:

  • precise location;
  • health information;
  • biometric information;
  • contacts;
  • photographs or videos from your personal library;
  • microphone recordings;
  • camera recordings;
  • browsing history;
  • search history;
  • clipboard contents;
  • financial account information;
  • passwords for third-party accounts;
  • presentation contents;
  • screen recordings;
  • advertising identifiers for behavioral advertising.

If the functionality of SLIDEC materially changes in a way that requires new categories of information, this Privacy Policy will be updated before or when those practices are introduced.

Section 5. How We Use Information

We use personal information only where reasonably necessary to operate, secure, improve, and administer the Service.

Purposes may include:

Providing the Service.
Creating and authenticating accounts, maintaining sessions, enabling subscriptions, determining available features, connecting compatible devices, restoring access, and providing requested functionality.
Managing subscriptions.
Verifying purchase ownership, determining subscription entitlement, restoring purchases, preventing conflicting ownership, and maintaining subscription state.
Account recovery and support.
Helping users recover account or subscription access and responding to support requests.
Security and abuse prevention.
Authenticating connections, protecting accounts, preventing fraud or misuse, rate-limiting abusive requests, investigating security incidents, and maintaining service integrity.
Service administration.
Maintaining infrastructure, debugging operational problems, ensuring compatibility, and operating SLIDEC.
Legal compliance.
Complying with applicable law, valid legal requests, tax or accounting requirements, regulatory requirements, and the enforcement of our legal rights.

We do not use personal information for third-party behavioral advertising.

Section 7. Service Providers and Third Parties

SLIDEC uses a limited number of service providers to operate the Service.

They currently include or may include:

Supabase
Used for account authentication, account infrastructure, backend services, and limited subscription-related records.
RevenueCat
Used for subscription entitlement management, subscription synchronization, and related purchase information.
Apple
Used for Sign in with Apple, App Store purchases, subscription billing, StoreKit functionality, and other Apple platform services.
Google
Where Google Sign-In or Google Play functionality is available, Google may process information necessary for authentication, store services, or subscription billing.
Cloudflare
Used to deliver, secure, and host SLIDEC web properties and related infrastructure.

These providers may process information on our behalf or independently where they determine the purposes and means of processing for their own platform services.

We require service providers processing personal information on our behalf to protect that information in accordance with applicable contractual and legal requirements.

We do not sell personal information to these providers.

Section 8. Sale, Advertising, and Tracking

SLIDEC does not sell personal information.

SLIDEC does not use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising based on activity across unrelated apps or websites.

SLIDEC does not integrate advertising networks into its core applications.

SLIDEC does not intentionally use advertising identifiers such as IDFA for tracking.

A platform or service provider may report the status of an operating-system privacy permission, including App Tracking Transparency status, as part of its SDK operation. The presence of such a status does not mean SLIDEC performs tracking.

Section 9. International Data Transfers

SLIDEC is intended to be available internationally.

Some service providers process information outside your country of residence. In particular, SLIDEC currently uses infrastructure and subscription services that may process or store information in the United States and other jurisdictions.

Where European Economic Area, United Kingdom, Swiss, or other international-transfer requirements apply, we rely on appropriate legal safeguards provided through our agreements with service providers, which may include Standard Contractual Clauses, applicable UK transfer mechanisms, adequacy decisions, or other legally recognized safeguards.

You may contact us for additional information regarding applicable transfer safeguards.

Section 10. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, subject to legal requirements.

Account and profile information is generally retained while your SLIDEC account remains active.

Subscription-related records may be retained while your account exists and for as long as reasonably necessary to verify subscription ownership, maintain access, prevent conflicts or abuse, resolve disputes, or comply with applicable legal obligations.

Security and anti-abuse information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the security purpose for which it was created and may be automatically removed on a short retention cycle.

Local preferences and known-device information may remain on your device until you remove them, reset the relevant settings, delete the application or its data, or otherwise clear the information.

Infrastructure and service providers may maintain operational, security, transaction, or backup records according to their own retention periods, contractual obligations, and legal requirements.

Where we cannot delete information immediately because it must be retained by law, for security, to establish or defend legal claims, or for another lawful reason, we will restrict its use to the permitted purpose and delete or anonymize it when retention is no longer required.

Section 11. Account and Data Deletion

You may request deletion of your SLIDEC account and personal information associated with it.

Account deletion will be available through SLIDEC account settings and, where required, through a web-accessible deletion request mechanism.

When your account is deleted, we will delete or request deletion of personal information associated with the account that SLIDEC controls and is not legally required to retain.

This may include account profile information, account identifiers, subscription records controlled by SLIDEC, and associated subscription-management customer records.

ACTIVE SUBSCRIPTIONS

Deleting a SLIDEC account does not itself cancel a subscription billed through Apple, Google, or another app-store provider.

If your account has an active subscription, SLIDEC may allow you to:

  • schedule account deletion for the end of the current paid subscription period, so that you can continue using the subscription you already purchased; or
  • delete the account immediately, after being informed that the subscription may remain active with the applicable app store and that access associated with the deleted SLIDEC account may be lost.

We may direct you to the applicable app-store subscription-management tools before deletion.

Deleting an account does not automatically create a right to a refund. Refund requests are governed by the applicable store provider and applicable law.

Information retained independently by Apple, Google, payment providers, or other independent third parties is governed by their own legal obligations and privacy practices.

If we are legally required to retain limited records after deletion, those records will be retained only for the required purpose and period.

You may also contact privacy@slidec.app to request deletion or exercise applicable privacy rights.

Section 12. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, alteration, disclosure, or misuse.

These measures include, where appropriate:

  • encrypted network transport;
  • secure device storage;
  • access controls;
  • separation of credentials and responsibilities;
  • data minimization;
  • limited service permissions;
  • secure authentication mechanisms;
  • cryptographic protections for trusted-device communication;
  • measures designed to reduce exposure of purchase and security identifiers.

No electronic service can guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a security incident affecting personal information, we will respond in accordance with applicable law.

Section 13. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights relating to your personal information.

These may include the right to:

  • obtain confirmation that we process your information;
  • access your personal information;
  • correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • request deletion;
  • request restriction of processing;
  • object to certain processing;
  • obtain certain information in a portable format;
  • withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
  • obtain information about how your data is used and shared;
  • lodge a complaint with an applicable data-protection authority.

These rights are not absolute and may be subject to exceptions provided by law.

To exercise a privacy right, contact privacy@slidec.app. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.

Section 14. EEA, United Kingdom, and Switzerland

If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you may have additional rights under applicable data-protection law.

You may contact the data-protection authority responsible for your place of residence if you believe your rights have been infringed.

Where required, SLIDEC will provide additional information regarding international-transfer safeguards and any representative appointed under applicable European or UK data-protection law.

SLIDEC does not currently use personal information to make decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal effects or similarly significant effects on you.

Section 15. Brazil

If the Brazilian Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados Pessoais (LGPD) applies to you, you may have rights including confirmation of processing, access, correction, information regarding sharing, portability where applicable, withdrawal of consent, and deletion in circumstances provided by law.

Requests should first be directed to privacy@slidec.app.

Section 16. United States Privacy Rights

Residents of certain U.S. states may have additional rights under applicable state privacy laws, including rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information and, where applicable, rights relating to certain forms of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising.

SLIDEC does not currently sell personal information or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

If such state laws apply to SLIDEC and to your information, you may submit a request through privacy@slidec.app.

Section 17. Chile

Where Chilean data-protection law applies, you may exercise the rights provided by applicable Chilean law regarding your personal information.

SLIDEC will update its privacy practices as necessary to comply with changes to Chilean data-protection legislation as they become applicable.

Section 18. Children

SLIDEC is not directed to children under the age of 13.

You must be at least 13 years old to create a SLIDEC account.

Where local law requires a higher age for an individual to provide valid consent independently, we will apply the higher age or require appropriate authorization where necessary.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you believe a child has provided personal information to SLIDEC contrary to this section, contact privacy@slidec.app so that we can investigate and take appropriate action.

Section 19. Business Transfers and Changes in Ownership

If SLIDEC or the business associated with it is reorganized, incorporated, financed, acquired, merged, sold, or transferred, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction where permitted by law.

Any successor responsible for personal information covered by this Privacy Policy will remain subject to applicable privacy obligations.

Where required, users will be notified of a material change in the identity of the controller or the manner in which their information is processed.

Section 21. Third-Party Services

SLIDEC may interact with platforms or applications provided by third parties, including presentation applications, operating systems, app stores, or identity providers.

Their processing of information independently from SLIDEC is governed by their own privacy policies and terms.

SLIDEC is not responsible for the independent privacy practices of third-party services that you choose to use.

Section 22. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as SLIDEC evolves, when our data practices change, when new features or platforms are introduced, or when required by law.

The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will indicate when the policy was most recently revised.

If a change materially affects how we process personal information, we will provide additional notice where required by applicable law.

We encourage users to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
